Lineage of My Reiki Training
In 1922, Dr. Usui became the first Grand Master of Reiki. Since then, many have followed in his footsteps.
The lineage of my Reiki training can be traced back to Dr. Usui as follows:
- Dr.Mikao Usui: First Grand Master of Reiki, 1922
- Dr. Chijiro Hayashi: Second Grand Master of Reiki, 1925
- Hawayo Takata: Third Grand Master of Reiki, 1940 (first female Grand Master; responsible for bringing Reiki to the West)
- Phyllis Lei Furumoto: Fourth Grand Master of Reiki, 1979 (granddaughter of Hawayo Takata)
- Anita Levin: Reiki Master, 1980
- Sheri Fogarty: Reiki Level 1, 1985; Reiki Level 2, 1997; Reiki Master, 1998
